The Creative Series FAQ
I've never done a photo shoot before. Is that okay?
Absolutely! Most of the people we photograph aren't professional models. We'll guide you through the entire session, including posing, expressions and where to look. You don't need any experience in front of the camera.
I don't know how to pose. What do I do?
You don't need to. That's our job! We'll direct you throughout the session and help you find poses that look natural and work with the experience you've chosen.
What should I wear?
Each Creative Series session has its own style, so you'll find attire recommendations in the description for that experience. After booking, we'll also provide additional guidance to help you prepare for your session.
Who can book a Creative Series session?
That depends on the experience. Some Creative Series sessions are designed for women only, men only, couples, or anyone. Please review the details of each experience. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Can minors participate?
Yes. Minors can participate in experiences appropriate for them. A parent or legal guardian will need to complete the required consent and release forms.
Can more than one person participate in a Creative Series session?
Some sessions are designed for a couple or two people. Other experiences are individual sessions unless otherwise noted. If multiple people want to participate, simply reserve separate session times for each person.
Can I book back-to-back sessions with a friend or family member?
Absolutely. If neighboring times are available, you're welcome to reserve back-to-back sessions. It's a great way to come together while still giving each person their own individual experience and time.
How long is each session?
Each current Creative Series session is approximately 30 minutes. Because these are focused, concept-driven sessions, everything is planned in advance so we can make the most of your time in front of the camera.
How many photos will I receive?
Each session includes a curated collection of 7 - 10 professionally edited and retouched images delivered through a private online gallery.
When will I receive my photos?
Your professionally edited images will be delivered through a private online gallery after your session. Because editing and retouching takes a little time, you can normally expect the finished images within 2 to 4 business days.
Are these experiences always available?
No. Creative Series sessions are special concepts offered on select dates throughout the year. New experiences and additional dates may be added, so check back to see what's coming next.
When is payment due?
Payment is due in full at the time of booking. Your session is not reserved until payment has been completed. Because Creative Series sessions are offered on select dates with a limited number of available sessions, we cannot hold appointment times without payment.
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Because Creative Series sessions are offered on select dates with a limited number of sessions, payments are non-refundable. If your plans change, please contact us as soon as possible. When availability allows, we may move your reservation to another available time or another Creative Series session. If no available options work for you, your payment will be retained as a credit toward a future session with Built On Purpose Studio. Rescheduling is subject to availability and is not guaranteed.
Where do the sessions take place?
The location depends on the Creative Series session. The experiences currently listed are studio sessions, and location details and arrival instructions will be provided after booking. Future Creative Series sessions may be offered at other locations.
Will I need to sign a consent form?
Yes. Each person being photographed must complete a consent form before the session. Adult participants will receive their own form to complete electronically. For anyone under 18, the form must be completed by their parent or legal guardian. We’ll send the appropriate forms after your Creative Series session is booked.
